Designing

Im a little b it worried about what it says on the breif. Apparently we are meant to have 2 toiles ready to show in two weeks, which I am not prepared for. But I have been designing more and they are less party dress looking. I find that my designs are becoming more loser and flow better. Thanks to Laura's magical pens i find the designing process a little less stress full.

Here is some of the work i have done so far

what i've done so far

During the holidays I done a lot of research in candy and fashion. I made a miock up bodice with boneing just to see if it was possible for me to make one If i was to make one in my collection. I made some samples which resembled chocolates, using fabric and beads and placed them on a candy box that i made to store my work in. I have been looking at extravagent high fashion from collections in 2009. Like John Galliano, Gaultier, Mcqueen and Westwood. Trying to incorporate thier ideas into my work.

I want my collection to look playfull and soffisticated so I am currently looking at collections from 2009 fall. Looking at large coats and power statement looks. Just to add some dimension into my design process.

French Candy

Hi my name is Jacqueline Garner and I am currently in my final year of my BA fashion degree. I have always been a creative person. from painting displays at our local park to creating tiarah's.

My theme for my collection was inspired by a holiday to france. I had been there once already and the town itself inspired me. Every small shop was beautifully presented. It was the sweet shops in france that interested me the most. because they wernt as i expected them to be. each shop reminded me of my favourite book when i was a child (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) each chocolate was hand made and presented in a beautifull way. this inspired me to look at candy as a theme.

I also looked at underwear and berlesque. Because i like the fact of women showing off their curves and being proud of themselves so i would like to incorporate this into my work.
